Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Season 2 Start Time and New Details

Black Ops 6 Season 2 will go live on January 28, featuring plenty of new multiplayer and zombie content for players to dive into.

Multiplayer will get three new maps at launch, with two additional maps going live during the mid-season update. Zombies fans have plenty to chew on, with a new map – The Tomb – going live at the start of Season 2, along with three new GobbleGums and a perk-a-cola weapon and wonders returning from the games previous Black Ops.

Warzone players will have to wait for more content to drop, as this season is focused on balancing and bug fixes for Call of Duty’s Battle Royale. However, players will be able to get all the new weapons and attachments that will be introduced in Black Ops 6.

Players just finished the latest double XP weekend together, so new maps, modes, and weapons are a good way to reinvigorate the game and keep Black Ops 6 feeling fresh. Here’s everything we currently know about the newest Call of Duty season.

What’s coming to Black Ops 6 in Season 2?

While Black Ops 6 Season 1 had a multiplayer-centric content drop, followed by a mid-season zombie-centric content drop, the launch of Season 2 is set to release maps for both multiplayer modes.

Multiplayer

One of the new multiplayer maps might be a Black Ops 2 fan favorite.

Activity

The new season will kick off with three new multiplayer maps: Bounty, Agencies and Lifeline. Each map has some Luttazzi connection, reflecting the theme of the season.

Two other maps, Bullet and Grindwill be added in the mid-season update. Grind is a map brought back from the Black Ops 2 DLC packs, continuing the trend of Black Ops series maps returning in Black Ops 6 — there’s supposed to be an “extra surprise” about this map somewhere around the mid-season, but there are no details yet on what that might be.

A new Team Deathmatch mode attached, overactthere are players fighting to reach a star cap before the enemy team. Regular eliminations reward one star, but headshots and melee kills reward two stars. Special eliminations and runs give players three stars.

Players who chain kills together quickly enough will gain buffs including wall hacks, health regeneration, increased movement and reload speed, improved hipfire accuracy, and improved sprint-to-fire speed and aim down.

Season 1 reintroduced the fan-favorite Prop Hunt Holiday Playlist and now Season 2 will reintroduce Gun game. This game mode has players go through the game’s arsenal, with each kill ranking them into a new weapon. Killing with a knife drops a player to the previous weapon.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, Third wheel gunfight will allow players to take on competitive mode in teams of three, while Couples dance outside mode is a Gunfight mode designed exclusively for duos.

Two new Enforcer perks are being added to multiplayer. The Slipstream perk increases base sprint speed at the cost of removing tactical sprint, and the Hunter’s Instinct perk marks the closest enemy to you after a takedown. The new Flyswatter character allows players to swap their dedicated melee weapon for a launcher.

The new and improved War Machine has been modernized to compete in Black Ops 6’s breakneck speed.

Activity

War Machine’s grenade launcher returns as a score bar for 1300 points. The latest iteration of the scores comes with 30 grenades and fires in three-round bursts.

As the season unfolds, Terminator AND Shadow hunting Events will become available to players, unlocking new weapons and attachments as players kill enemies in multiplayer, zombie, and warzone game modes.

These weapons include the PPSh-41 SMG rifle, the Cypher 091 assault rifle, the Feng 82 LMG, and the TR2 sniper rifle. The AEK-973 is getting a full-auto conversion mod, the Tanto .22 SMG is getting a Binary Trigger attachment, and the three LMGs are getting a belt-fed magazine modification.

Additionally, every assault rifle, as well as the SWAT 5.56 and AEK-973 sniper rifles, are getting access to an explosive-tipped bow underbarrel attachment, allowing players to go a little medieval on their opponents this season.

The quality of life updates introduced in Day 115 will come to multiplayer on the day Season 2 starts.

Zombie

One of Origins’ awesome weapons is making a comeback in Black Ops 6 zombies.

Activity

New zombie map, gravewill be released with the start of season 2. It has also been officially confirmed that the Origins ice staff is returning. Along with an all-new Easter egg that will push Dark Aether’s story forward, the new map will apparently include variants of the Abomination, Amalgam, and Doppelghast zombies introduced in previous maps.

A new variant of the Mimic zombie, the Shock Mimic, will make its debut in The Tomb. This zombie masquerades as useful items, luring players in before attacking with static discharge that deals damage, obscures vision, and warps the mini-map.

Shock Mimic is a deadlier variant of a familiar undead face.

Activity

Another benefit of Black Ops 6, The perception of deathis a zombie perk brought back from Black Ops 4. This perk allows players to see zombies through walls and other obstacles, which will help within the tight confines of The Tomb. The new add-ons will allow players to upgrade weapon mods, critical hits, or farm more essence earlier in the game.

There will also be three new GobbleGums at the start of Season 2. Epic Dead Drop GobbleGum increases salvage and equipment drop rate for five minutes. This GobbleGum will likely see a lot of use in the high round zombie community, where players typically rely on strategies that use up too many saves too quickly.

Legendary Modified Chaos GobbleGum greatly reduces all ammo mod cooldowns for two minutes. And strange Quacknarok GobbleGum adds rubber inner tubes to all zombies for three minutes, if that’s your thing.

Developer Treyarch previously teased the return of a fan-favorite SMG zombie — which turned out to be the PPSh-41, as shown in the Season 2 trailer.

Every weapon and attachment added to multiplayer and Warzone in Season 2 will also be available for use on zombies, and the War Machine scoreboard will also become available in the mode.

What’s coming to Warzone in Season 2?

Most of the Warzone Season 2 content has been pushed back to improve the state of the game.

Activity

There is some new content coming to Warzone in Season 2, but this seasonal update will mainly include game tuning, weapon balancing, and quality of life improvements for Battle Royale players. Much of the new content previously planned for this season has been pushed back to address what developer Treyarch has called “fundamental issues” with Warzone.

Changes have been made to weapon swap speed, reload speed, jump speed, parachute transition and audio clarity to create a fairer experience. Targeted bug fixes will also resolve issues with map visibility, perk performance, and weapon interactions.

SR gain and loss will also be adjusted for a better ranked experience, to give players a fairer chance to climb the ladder. New summon cards, emblems, stickers, camots and new projects are also being added as ranked game rewards in Warzone.

However, two new perks will be added to Warzone within Season 2. The Reactive Armor perk will be available at launch and will allow armor to regenerate up to 50% for players who haven’t taken damage in the last five seconds. The low profile perk will be added mid-season and allows players to move faster when knocked down or prone.

What’s happening in Black Ops 6 seasonal story?

While Season 1 had Sev and the Rogue Black Ops team confronting their enemies, burning their assets and delivering a final blow against their power, Season 2 looks like it’s going to be Call of Duty’s version of The Empire Strikes Back – – with the bad guys coming out on top.

Last season focused on the Luttazzi crime family, which is still operating after the events of the campaign, with multiplayer maps like Heirloom and Racket simulating battles that strike at the heart of the criminal empire. Sev and Troy were trying to remove Pantheon’s financial support, crippling the terrorist organization.

In Season 2, the Luttazzi are sending their best assassins after the Black Ops team, which basically just means that the new battle pass will be themed around a new ninja-looking operator. It remains to be seen if Luttazzi’s conspiracy storyline will be wrapped up by the end of this season.

How big is the Warzone Season 2 update file for Black Ops 6?

While we don’t yet know exactly how big the Season 2 update file will be for Black Ops 6 and Warzone, we do know how big the game’s previous seasonal updates have been.

Since the Season 1 update focused on multiplayer content and the Season 1 Refresh update focused on the zombies experience, they can help us understand how big the Season 2 update could be.

The Black Ops 6 Season 1 update file was 35GB, with Warzone adding an additional 10GB of content. The refreshed Black Ops 6 Season 1 update file added another 20GB. It’s a safe guess that the Season 2 update file size will be in the same range as these numbers.
